************* UPDATE 1100: We spoke to Senator McCain's office and they claim this is only for true enemies ( Al Qaeda and so forth) but when has our government NOT twisted and manipulated laws to turn against the American public! The entire text of the bill is 12 pages long and can be found at the Library of Congress website. I will be reading it this afternoon and will report our findings! ***********

************** UPDATE 12:38- While I do think this bill is written for the benefit of the American people- and to stop or suspend the current administrations practice of granting terrorist the same privileges as an American Citizen- there is some wording in the bill that is troubling.
Section 3. D-2) defines the criteria for a High-value Detainee under E) as any "(E) Such other matters as the President considers appropriate."

Section 6- Defines ACT OF TERRORISM "(1) ACT OF TERRORISM- The term ‘act of terrorism’ means an act of terrorism as that term is defined in section 101(16) of the Homeland Security Act of 2002 (6 U.S.C. 101(16))."
If you look up U.S.C.101 (16))- it states activities that are "(i)dangerous to human life or potentially destructive of critical infrastructure or key resources; and (ii)is a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State or other subdivision of the United States; and (B) appears to be intended-"
(B) allows for a lot of interpretation!

This is a bill that we need to keep our eyes on. It is currently in committee and could become very dangerous to the American people if the language is changed in any way or added upon.
